Safe Feed/Safe Food

Feed Energy Company’s Des Moines, Sioux City and Pacific Junction facilities continue to be some of the only facilities of their type to be certified in the American Feed Industry Association’s (AFIA) Safe Feed/Safe Food program. This national initiative is intended to demonstrate and ensure a safe and wholesome feed supply to the livestock industry while at the same time, enhancing consumer confidence in the products that they consume.

AFIA’s Safe Feed/Safe Food program is open to feed manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and others in the livestock industry who choose to validate a commitment to food safety and proactive leadership. It signifies that certified companies have embraced the feed industry’s proactive role in creating feed- based safety programs. This certification gives Feed Energy’s customers added assurance that the products they use are tracked and traced with the utmost attention to detail.

Along with certification, Feed Energy is entitled to use the special Safe Feed/Safe Food seal and logo on its products.
