Case Studies

Challenge: A layer hen producer was searching for ways to improve the egg case weights of his hens.

Solution: This customer came to Feed Energy because he had heard about the consistent quality of the products and how Feed Energy had been able to help other producers. This producer has been using AV 4000 for more than a year and is getting consistently higher egg case weights. He recommended Feed Energy to his pullet supplier (now a customer) in hopes of improving the uniformity of the weights of the chicks coming into his operation.

Challenge: Under a new contract with his processor, a large Iowa turkey grower was being required to provide heavier weights while being penalized for lower weights.

Solution: This producer realized that he could no longer afford the risk of feeding a variable energy source, especially given the high price of corn and other ingredients. By switching to a Feed Energy product, this producer believes that the predictable caloric level will allow for a more consistent calorie/protein level in the ration.

Challenge: A turkey grower wanted to increase the performance of birds coming out of the brooder house.

Solution: This customer switched to AV 4000. By using this all-vegetable product from Feed Energy, the grower began to see almost immediate results in the form of better weights coming out of his brooder house.

Challenge: Row crop and alfalfa farmers are faced with continuing substantial increases in the cost, as well as a potential lack of availability, of fertilizer products.

Solution: Feed Energy, in conjunction with Iowa State University, developed a unique and highly effective crop nutrient derived from soybean processing that allows farmers to reduce fertilizer costs. The product, Plant Food SoilutionsTM (PFS), is licensed and is being distributed through partnering coops and fertilizer dealers in Iowa and adjoining states. This product program provides an additional revenue stream for Feed Energy partners, while allowing farmers to remain competitive on their input costs.
